Podcast

K, so I'm going to jump right into this. I oficially hate machines!!!! (again). I am so totally mechanically declined. This might sound strange from someone who has a blog right? Well the thing is that it's not so much that I am incapable of learning this stuff, it's just that this stuff (machinery of any kind) doesn't like me. Seriously. Machines go haywire around me. Just now I've had to restart my computer twice just to get this post up. Ugh! And it's not the computer. Theres something about me that makes computers and really any mechanical device hate me. This same computer works just fine for everyone else. Ugh! Ok, so anyway, I've been working on this Podcast for my poli sci class (the best class ever! =]). Last night me and my partner (it's a group project) were recording ourselves, and thankfully the damn machine was cooperating (she was working with it and I was just nearby to record my part), but even when its wellbehaved its a freaking pain in your rear end!!!!! Cutting and pasting on garage band is sooooooo frustrating!!! Oh, but that wasn't bad compared to what happened next. At one point I got near it and it just started going fuzzy. That scared the crap out of me! I thought it might have erased and we would have to start all over. NOT a pleasant thought. Thankfully, as soon as I stepped away it went back and nothing happened. Now, my partner, hereforth know as J, did not notice because in that moment she had received a call. Phew! So I didn't tell her so I wouldn't freak her out. But damn I noticed! But anyway, just venting.

Oh, yeah, and on a side note. Obama announce who his team is going to be. Yes, Hillary Clinton is going to be on it, and heading it from what I understood. Honestly though, I haven't had time to look into it closely, so I'll get back to you on details and on who the other cabinet members will be. Well I'll just leave you with the somewhat unnecessary information that I'm looking forward to this new administration. See. Totally unnecessary. You don't need to know that. But I feel like saying it so :P.

Ok...

... so I changed the the description for this blog. Why? Simply because the purpose sorta kinda, a little changed. Well, more like simplemente no paso como yo lo esperaba. So whatever, whenever is the new philosophy for this blog now.

So now you know: WHATEVER, WHENEVER.

Ciao!

BOOOOOO!!!!!!

Solo queda seguir luchando y echandole ganas. *aaahhhh*. It's just so frustrating to feel so helpless.

TearDrop:(

I feel so sad right now. Well primero les deberia de decir que Leonardo DiCaprio has made a movie que se llama "The 11th Hour" (no I'm not advertising.). I just watched the trailer and it just reminded me of what I've had on my mind a lot lately. I have been pensando en el ambiente. What monsters we are!!!

P.S. Sorry for the Spanglish. I'm so emotional. I do that cuando estoy llena de emocion.

More on poetry! Sorta. And other stuff.

Ok so there was this open mic poetry night last night. I went to it, but I left after like five minutes of waiting for it to start. What can I say? I'm not aparticularly patient person. Quite the opposite.

Anyway, instead I called a friend and we started talking about how everyone back home is doing, if we had heard about our old classmates, the weather, college, etc. Just life in general. ( A few personal things were mentioned, but I won't say... They are personal for a reason.) It got me thinking; life can change so fast. I mean, I've know this for quite a while, but well, last night I just started getting into it. Sometimes it just seems like I blink and BAM! life has done a 360 on me (again). This last Friday I went back to my highchool to get an official transcript and it felt like I had never left. I bumped into people I knew, and it was like I was going to class again. I would say Deja Vu, but it wasn't quite like that. And last night, after I talked to my friend (let's call her C), well after I talke to C, I went over what we had talked about. Preious friends were getting jobs, or had knew jobs.... just being adults, you know? That exact thought popped into my head. I just froze right there. These are people I've known for a while, but people I've know only as teens. But they're not teens anymore. WE'RE not teens anymore. We started the rest of our lives. I guess it finally hit me. It really hit me now. Oh, and recently I've begun chating with a past friend of mine. In fact she was once my best friend. I've know her since we were three. Let's call her E. Well, E's off doing her thing to. The last time I saw E we were both little girls. We were eleven. And talking to her again, after so many years, it's put the speed of time into perspective for me. Where did all those years go? All those moments? And one can't help but wonder what would have happened, if say in this case, with me and E, I hadn't moved? Would our friendship still be going strong? I talk to her now and we seem to have so little in common. Would that have caused us to drift apart? Would it have brought us closer? What about all the people I've met since? My best friend, Y, I love her dearly, her and her beautiful daughter that I have the pleasure of calling "niece" (and "sweet child"). Would I ever have met Y? There are just so many "what if's" in life. And for us time is straight; we should look forward in the straight line that is presented as time to us. But sometimes we just can't help looking back. And, personally, I think that it's important to look back. Not because of that bs that people are always saying (that we should learn from our past mistakes, although that is important) but because memories are important. Answer this question: What and Who would you be without all your memories? Everything we know about the world and especially ourselves is from memories; memories are found in the past. So, Who/ What would I be without my memories? I'd be a body, with thoughts, of course, still an individual, but what characteristics would define me?It is my past that has build the characteristics that make me. To spell out my point: look into the past to remember who you are; without your past you would not be you. And who knows who you would be.

Time for me to part. Gotta find out who I am. :D

IDK

I know I said I would talk more about offshore drilling. But I just don't feel like it. So I won't.

Instead I will talk about poetry. I love it. I don't consider myself much of a poet. I think I had mentioned that before, but I do love reading it and writing it. It has this relaxing effect on me. I'm not a particularly stressed person, in fact I'm never stressed, but that doesn't mean I am relaxed all the time. There is a middle ground (as there is with everything). So just like everyone else I need these things that relax me. Although I have to admit ocassionally I'm so relaxed I feel like I practically slip into a comatose state. Anyway, back to poetry. I was trying to write a poem yesterday, but being a creature of impulse and mood, I couldn't come up with anything. Right now there is a paper with a bunch of scratched out lines lying on my desk. I just wasn't feeling it flow. Oh, well. I gave up on it. I'll pick it up again when the mood strikes. Some of my favorite poets are Robert Frost (ok so he's my ultimate favorite), Emily Dickinson, William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, and others. Some of my favorite poems are already posted.

Well I'm hungry so I'll leave to get some lunch now.

Ciao!

Hey There!

Its been over a month. What can I say; college is keeping me busy. Nothing new on that frontier. Well except all the new facts flooding my brain.

I was just reading some of my previous posts and I came across "April 25: National Day of Silence". I was thinking back to how it felt. I can't wait to do it again this year. Here in college I have found a stronger voice than the one I had before. I guess it's because of all the new knowledge and awareness that I have gained. I simply feel stronger. I have also found that people really like to study and work with me because of it. I have turned into one of those students who tends to talk more than the professor. :D. But anyway, I was just thinking that it will be a greater experience next year because of my new-found louder voice. It is strange though; through the act of not speaking for an entire day we (those who participate in National Day of Silence) make ourselves heard, but there are those poor souls who cannot talk, who cannot voice their thoughts, who go completely unnoticed. It's a little backwards.

On a different note, let's talk about politics. I'm voting for Obama! There I've said it. There's no taking it back. I had been hesitant on making my choice; I was trying to keep an open mind until everything that has happened and what still has to happen did. In other words, I was going to keep and open mind to both major parties candidates until all was said and done. But then I, along with the rest of the United States, met Sarah Palin. She was the straw that broke the cammels back, so to speak. So long as McCain has that woman as her vice president, he has no chance of winning my vote. (Not that he had much of a chance before). By no means is Palin prepared to be the next VP. What experience does she have? None. Now I know that Obama's experience is limited as well but consider this: 1) Obama is a senator, meaning he has some experience, and 2) Palin is someone we had never heard of! I don't know what everyone else thinks, but being a governor is a completely different thing than being VP of the US of A.
Moving away from basics, lets talk about how Palin wants to approve offshore drilling. McCain wants her to take reins on our energy crisis! Now what do think will come of that? As they are so charmingly putting it, "Drill, baby drill!". Think about the impact on our environment. This about the habitats that will be destroyed. The pollution, not only from oil spills but also from chemicals that will be drilled out right along with the oil, many of which are well known carcinogens and asthma-inducers.

Well I'll have to get back to this. As of right now I have to finish some research before it gets any later.

More on offshore drilling to come. In the mean time check out this site:

Phew!!!

The first week of school is over! Finally. It seemed to last forever, what with being all alone in my dorm and adjusting to college life and everything else that has been going on. I'm going home in a few hours. My mom's picking me up. It's Labor Day weekend and it couldn't have come at a better moment. I'm still recovering from homesickness and this weekend will be a soft respite and hopefully when I come back on Sunday or Monday (I haven't decided if I want to be here at the Mount for this excursion thats going to happen or not) I would have a relapse. Hopefully I'll be completely cured.

But anyway nothing new to say except:

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!!!

Enjoy your weekend!
