Podcast

K, so I'm going to jump right into this. I oficially hate machines!!!! (again). I am so totally mechanically declined. This might sound strange from someone who has a blog right? Well the thing is that it's not so much that I am incapable of learning this stuff, it's just that this stuff (machinery of any kind) doesn't like me. Seriously. Machines go haywire around me. Just now I've had to restart my computer twice just to get this post up. Ugh! And it's not the computer. Theres something about me that makes computers and really any mechanical device hate me. This same computer works just fine for everyone else. Ugh! Ok, so anyway, I've been working on this Podcast for my poli sci class (the best class ever! =]). Last night me and my partner (it's a group project) were recording ourselves, and thankfully the damn machine was cooperating (she was working with it and I was just nearby to record my part), but even when its wellbehaved its a freaking pain in your rear end!!!!! Cutting and pasting on garage band is sooooooo frustrating!!! Oh, but that wasn't bad compared to what happened next. At one point I got near it and it just started going fuzzy. That scared the crap out of me! I thought it might have erased and we would have to start all over. NOT a pleasant thought. Thankfully, as soon as I stepped away it went back and nothing happened. Now, my partner, hereforth know as J, did not notice because in that moment she had received a call. Phew! So I didn't tell her so I wouldn't freak her out. But damn I noticed! But anyway, just venting.

Oh, yeah, and on a side note. Obama announce who his team is going to be. Yes, Hillary Clinton is going to be on it, and heading it from what I understood. Honestly though, I haven't had time to look into it closely, so I'll get back to you on details and on who the other cabinet members will be. Well I'll just leave you with the somewhat unnecessary information that I'm looking forward to this new administration. See. Totally unnecessary. You don't need to know that. But I feel like saying it so :P.

Ok...

... so I changed the the description for this blog. Why? Simply because the purpose sorta kinda, a little changed. Well, more like simplemente no paso como yo lo esperaba. So whatever, whenever is the new philosophy for this blog now.

So now you know: WHATEVER, WHENEVER.

BOOOOOO!!!!!!

Solo queda seguir luchando y echandole ganas. *aaahhhh*. It's just so frustrating to feel so helpless.

TearDrop:(

I feel so sad right now. Well primero les deberia de decir que Leonardo DiCaprio has made a movie que se llama "The 11th Hour" (no I'm not advertising.). I just watched the trailer and it just reminded me of what I've had on my mind a lot lately. I have been pensando en el ambiente. What monsters we are!!!

Chocolatl

P.S. Sorry for the Spanglish. I'm so emotional. I do that cuando estoy llena de emocion.

More on poetry! Sorta. And other stuff.

Ok so there was this open mic poetry night last night. I went to it, but I left after like five minutes of waiting for it to start. What can I say? I'm not aparticularly patient person. Quite the opposite.

Anyway, instead I called a friend and we started talking about how everyone back home is doing, if we had heard about our old classmates, the weather, college, etc. Just life in general. ( A few personal things were mentioned, but I won't say... They are personal for a reason.) It got me thinking; life can change so fast. I mean, I've know this for quite a while, but well, last night I just started getting into it. Sometimes it just seems like I blink and BAM! life has done a 360 on me (again). This last Friday I went back to my highchool to get an official transcript and it felt like I had never left. I bumped into people I knew, and it was like I was going to class again. I would say Deja Vu, but it wasn't quite like that. And last night, after I talked to my friend (let's call her C), well after I talke to C, I went over what we had talked about. Preious friends were getting jobs, or had knew jobs.... just being adults, you know? That exact thought popped into my head. I just froze right there. These are people I've known for a while, but people I've know only as teens. But they're not teens anymore. WE'RE not teens anymore. We started the rest of our lives. I guess it finally hit me. It really hit me now. Oh, and recently I've begun chating with a past friend of mine. In fact she was once my best friend. I've know her since we were three. Let's call her E. Well, E's off doing her thing to. The last time I saw E we were both little girls. We were eleven. And talking to her again, after so many years, it's put the speed of time into perspective for me. Where did all those years go? All those moments? And one can't help but wonder what would have happened, if say in this case, with me and E, I hadn't moved? Would our friendship still be going strong? I talk to her now and we seem to have so little in common. Would that have caused us to drift apart? Would it have brought us closer? What about all the people I've met since? My best friend, Y, I love her dearly, her and her beautiful daughter that I have the pleasure of calling "niece" (and "sweet child"). Would I ever have met Y? There are just so many "what if's" in life. And for us time is straight; we should look forward in the straight line that is presented as time to us. But sometimes we just can't help looking back. And, personally, I think that it's important to look back. Not because of that bs that people are always saying (that we should learn from our past mistakes, although that is important) but because memories are important. Answer this question: What and Who would you be without all your memories? Everything we know about the world and especially ourselves is from memories; memories are found in the past. So, Who/ What would I be without my memories? I'd be a body, with thoughts, of course, still an individual, but what characteristics would define me?It is my past that has build the characteristics that make me. To spell out my point: look into the past to remember who you are; without your past you would not be you. And who knows who you would be.

Time for me to part. Gotta find out who I am. :D

IDK

I know I said I would talk more about offshore drilling. But I just don't feel like it. So I won't.

Instead I will talk about poetry. I love it. I don't consider myself much of a poet. I think I had mentioned that before, but I do love reading it and writing it. It has this relaxing effect on me. I'm not a particularly stressed person, in fact I'm never stressed, but that doesn't mean I am relaxed all the time. There is a middle ground (as there is with everything). So just like everyone else I need these things that relax me. Although I have to admit ocassionally I'm so relaxed I feel like I practically slip into a comatose state. Anyway, back to poetry. I was trying to write a poem yesterday, but being a creature of impulse and mood, I couldn't come up with anything. Right now there is a paper with a bunch of scratched out lines lying on my desk. I just wasn't feeling it flow. Oh, well. I gave up on it. I'll pick it up again when the mood strikes. Some of my favorite poets are Robert Frost (ok so he's my ultimate favorite), Emily Dickinson, William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, and others. Some of my favorite poems are already posted.

Well I'm hungry so I'll leave to get some lunch now.

Ciao!

Hey There!

Its been over a month. What can I say; college is keeping me busy. Nothing new on that frontier. Well except all the new facts flooding my brain.

I was just reading some of my previous posts and I came across "April 25: National Day of Silence". I was thinking back to how it felt. I can't wait to do it again this year. Here in college I have found a stronger voice than the one I had before. I guess it's because of all the new knowledge and awareness that I have gained. I simply feel stronger. I have also found that people really like to study and work with me because of it. I have turned into one of those students who tends to talk more than the professor. :D. But anyway, I was just thinking that it will be a greater experience next year because of my new-found louder voice. It is strange though; through the act of not speaking for an entire day we (those who participate in National Day of Silence) make ourselves heard, but there are those poor souls who cannot talk, who cannot voice their thoughts, who go completely unnoticed. It's a little backwards.

On a different note, let's talk about politics. I'm voting for Obama! There I've said it. There's no taking it back. I had been hesitant on making my choice; I was trying to keep an open mind until everything that has happened and what still has to happen did. In other words, I was going to keep and open mind to both major parties candidates until all was said and done. But then I, along with the rest of the United States, met Sarah Palin. She was the straw that broke the cammels back, so to speak. So long as McCain has that woman as her vice president, he has no chance of winning my vote. (Not that he had much of a chance before). By no means is Palin prepared to be the next VP. What experience does she have? None. Now I know that Obama's experience is limited as well but consider this: 1) Obama is a senator, meaning he has some experience, and 2) Palin is someone we had never heard of! I don't know what everyone else thinks, but being a governor is a completely different thing than being VP of the US of A.
Moving away from basics, lets talk about how Palin wants to approve offshore drilling. McCain wants her to take reins on our energy crisis! Now what do think will come of that? As they are so charmingly putting it, "Drill, baby drill!". Think about the impact on our environment. This about the habitats that will be destroyed. The pollution, not only from oil spills but also from chemicals that will be drilled out right along with the oil, many of which are well known carcinogens and asthma-inducers.

Well I'll have to get back to this. As of right now I have to finish some research before it gets any later.

More on offshore drilling to come. In the mean time check out this site:

Phew!!!

The first week of school is over! Finally. It seemed to last forever, what with being all alone in my dorm and adjusting to college life and everything else that has been going on. I'm going home in a few hours. My mom's picking me up. It's Labor Day weekend and it couldn't have come at a better moment. I'm still recovering from homesickness and this weekend will be a soft respite and hopefully when I come back on Sunday or Monday (I haven't decided if I want to be here at the Mount for this excursion thats going to happen or not) I would have a relapse. Hopefully I'll be completely cured.

But anyway nothing new to say except:

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!!!!!

Enjoy your weekend!

Hey Again!

Second day of college here and I've got to say it feels so strange not having anyone telling me constantly what to do. For example, in highschool you had luch, at the same time every day. The time was chosen for you, we didn't to choose. Now you have to remember that it's lunch time. It's the weirdest thing not having someone at your back telling what to do or how to do it. I kind of like it though. It's a new sense of freedom, and it's not like I don't have my stomach reminding me to eat lunch. I was in the middle of Pol 001 when I smelled pizza and I was so hungry (this morning I woke up late and so had to miss breakfast). You can imagine how loud my stomach growled. Thankfully no one seemed to notice. Oops gotta go to my next class now.

College?!!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!

Confusing!!! Well sort of. Kinda. About an hour and a half ago I finished my first day of classes here at MSMC. Wow! It went by fast. Seriously. But then again, it's only the first day of school.

Nothing more to say.

Journal

Just noticed that I've been using this blog as a sort of journal. Not my original intention. Oops. Well it's kinda difficult disscusing issues, anything, with myself. Well...
...Bye!

So Close!

I can practically taste it! 10 more days until I find myself moving to Mount St. Mary's College! So very close. I only just realized how close two days ago, on my brothers birthday (he's 13!). I've made a lot of mistakes though. Like not realizing there was still paperwork that needed turning in, and therefore missing the deadline. Very irresponsible of me. Tsk tsk. Now I find myself rushing these papers. I can only say that I've got to be the luckiest person in the world. You see, my irresponsibility has so far not gotten me kicked out of MSMC (before I even moved in). Let's hope I didn't miss anything else. That could be catastrophic. I can't allow something so trivial and stupid to threaten my future again.

Well, now I've vented (confessed, by the way it reads) and so now I'm gone.

Yawwnn....

That's what this summer has been like for me so far. I'm up to my eyeballs in yawns. Actually that prints a very comical picture.LOL. But seriously. I'm so bored. It would definitely help if I could find a job, but nothing so far. No one seems to want to hire me. It's not like I don't have experience working. Maybe it'sd just that I don't have expiernce on getting the job. I've only had to do it once and the career center lady did practically everything for me. I want a job so bad. I'm tired of going out to apply and having to come back home and do nothing. I mean, I clean my room every day for christ sake! That's how much time I have on my hands. That can't be right, can it? I mean, how many teenagers clean their room every single day?! A teenagers room can consider itself lucky when it gets cleaned once a week. But every single day?! That's just ridiculous! For anyone who knows what cabin fever is, if I didn't know better I'd swear that I have cabin fever. I'm going crazy!
But just remembering that I'm going to go to college in less than a month.... I don't know how to explain it... it just seems to calm me down instantly.... it brings a smile to my face... makes my heart beat a little faster... my head starts reeling... I feel so light... sigh.
But I still need and want a job!!!

Wht I have noticed about life.

I have noticed that life moves kinda slowly. I'm willing the time to pass but it refuses to do so. It's inching it's way to the finish line and theres nothing I can do to make it sprint.

Maybe that's for the best. I still kinda very much hate it right now though. I an a restless soul, after all. Not very patient. Can't wait to get moving. I just want to get to it already! College life and all it's horrors (all it's wonder as well ofcourse).

It's summer and I feel like I'm stuck in it rather than enjoying it. About two or three weeks ago I accidentally dropped my phone in the toilet (ewww!) and it doesn't work anymore, so I got a new one. No problem there. The problem came when I realized that all my friends numbers where on there and there is no way for me to retrive them. And believe it or not I also accidently erased all my contact from my computer so I can't get their numbers there either. I am totally discommunicated. Oh well, eventually someone will miss me and will call me and hopefully I can get at least some numbers that way.Since I have no communication through phone I have not come back to the computer and this beautiful thing called the Internet.

well Chiao!

P.S. I just noticed I use a lot of exclamation marks. Hmmm... I also write "Hmm..." a lot.

ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Wow!

Long time no write. Sorry if I kept anyone waiting. If not, well..... doesn't really matter now does it? So anyway. Nothing new here. Still going to college starting August 25. (The day after my birthday!) Well, actually, now I have my schedule. I'm taking some neat classes. Philosophy!!!
So happy! I'm taking philosophy! I love philosophy. Philosophy 10 to be more exact. Deals with critical thinking, which I also love.

Um....

Oh yeah! I'm a semifinalist in this poetry competition I entered. I could win up to $10 thousand if I win. Obviously that will go straight to my college fund. As in the moment I get it (if I win) I'm gonna loose it. Well not loose it, but invest it in my future. Maybe I should enter more poetry competitions. Actually, while I do enjoy writng poetry, I don't consider myself much of a poet. I'm thinking I possibly just got lucky. I only entered 'cause I had nothing to loose and everything to gain. Then again, maybe I'm not just lucky and I actually have something going for myself here. I certainly enjoy writing. Hmmm......

Well, anyway

Oooops!

Hmmm...
I forgot to write about something very important. How could I forget?! I graduated June 4, 2008.
More than two weeks ago. How could I forget?! Ooops!
Well, as far as graduations go, it wasn't very teary eyed. At least not for me. Well...
Not until the end. Jusdt as I was leaving, I decided to take one last and final look back at my highschool. And the tears just leaked out. I need to fix the plumbing in my eyes. They start leaking all of a sudden out of nowhere. Sometimes over very little. But I don't think that was "little". That's one phase of my live over and done with. Four years of memory that will never again be any more than that. Memory. In the end, is that all we have left? Wow. What a pesimistic thought. That's not like me. Except when the mood hits. Well the memories make me happy, so they are worth it. Even the bad ones? Hmm...
Yup! Even the bad ones! 'Cause without the bad ones the good ones wouldn't mean a damn thing.
Sooooo.............

Straight from Mexico!

Hey peeps!
(i hate that term, but i felt like using it. How spntaneous am I?)

Anyway, I´m typing straight from Mexico. I am taking some well deserved vacations. LOL. Actually, I´m here for my aunts wedding. Her parents are here in Morelia, Michoacan and so the wedding has to be too.

But anyway, I´m happy to be here. Cuanto extrañaba a mis primas. I missed them so much. (My cousins) We´re the united bunch. I´m extatic. So you see, because of them, thanks to them, I am on vacation.

Life is good. I look forward to my nueva vida. My new life. Mount St. Mary´s me llama. It calls to me. It´s hard letting go of my family, I love them so, but a bird has to leave the nest. This is my first flight. Let{s hope I soar up to the sky, straight to the moon and beyond. At this point all I can do is give it my all and hope for clear skys with a touch of rain to cheer me up (I love the rain.)

Wow. I suddenly feel really nostalgic. That´s what I gt for typing about this. Sucks to me.

Well I´ll stop boring you.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

I'm a little late, I know. But I can't do anything bout it now. So how many of you succumbed to my plea and participated in National Day of Silence? Like I said before; it's an awesome experience.

But moving on. I sent in my tuition deposit and my room and board deposit. So yeah. I solved my "where am I gonna live during college" problem. And my mom and aunt aren't bugging me as much. They've given in to the idea that I'm going away. Thank heavens.

Oh! I almost forgot. I went to prom on May 3. I had an awesome time. We were singing on the way to prom, which was at Dana Point, and I danced with my friends all night long. Then we went to Dennys for dinner/breakfast and on the way there sang and danced in our seats some more. It sounds kinda not as fun as it actually was but it was one of those things you just had to be there for.

So that's my update, though you may not be interested. Sorry about the no arguing so far. But my readers (if there are any) don't exactly help.

Bye!

National Day of Silence

For those of you who haven't heard, today is Nationa Day of Silence. The purpose of National Day of Silence is to bring attention to all the injustices of the world, namely all the voices that have been kept quiet throughout time. In other words, all the people who have been silenced because of their race, origin, ethinicity, religion, abilities, age, sexual orientations, gender identities, and beliefs. This day has been reserved (so to speak) to commemorate all those who were not able to speak out in some way shape or form. Today is dedicated to people like Lawrencre King, a young boy of 14 who was killed by another student because Lawrence was an identified homosexual. It is injustices like this that have brought many of my classmates, and other schools around the country to keep quiet today. Today we have not spoken a single word throughout the school day, nor will we until the end of the school day at 2:30 pm. At that time we will get together in the quad of our school to release the silence. To release all that we have been holding in all day. And to throw our signs in the air. (The signs say the purpose of our silence, so everyone else knows whats going on.)

I have taken today as a means to grow as a human being. I have always valued my right to speak out, but never more than today. I thank all those who made it unberable for me today by trying to make me talk. I thank my American Government teacher for asking me a question he knew I knew the answer to, knowing full well that I could not actually voice my answer. I am so furious with him!! But I thank him for that. He messed with me when I could not defend myself, and so thanks to him I now truly understand what it is like not to have a voice. I now understand what it feels like to not be able to defend myself. I now know what it feels like to feel hopeless. Thank- You Mr. B. Thanks.

In about 30 minutes I will finally be able to let go. I will finally be able to let go of all that has burned inside me since this morning. And I will be able to share my experiences with my peers and we will see what the other has learned.

I'll leave you with a request. It's not too late. You still have the rest of the day. Keep silent for the rest of the day. Make your own sign.Give yourself the opportunity to grow and to learn. Do it at home, at work, wherever you may be. Don't miss out. Support this noble cause.

Bye.

Hello Cruel World!

You might be wondering about the title I chose. You might be perplexed. You might even ask yourself "Why call the world cruel? Didin't she just get accepted to the college she wishes to attend?" And of course you are correct. But here's why i chose it: 1)My mom says I'm going too far to college and my aunt has joined in the pestering. It just gets annoying after a while. 2) I don't get a lot of comments, which makes it kinda hard to argue about anything (my favorite hobby in the world) and 3)Prom is coming and me and my friend think we might be getting cheated on our part of the price of the limo (hopeless story). :( :( :( 8( 8(
But that just sucks for me. There is little to nothing I can do about 1 and 2 although we're working on 3. All this is made worse by the fact I've been waking up super happy every day (singing even) and then I remember all these things and my mood just goes back down. ahhhh...
Well anyway, sorry to bore you. Bye.
P.S. there is a number four. Here it is: 4) I don't know where I'm going to live when I go to college. Thankfully there is plenty I can do about that one, so I'm not as stressed about that one. Well, see ya!

Todo Cambio

Hey! Hola! Recognize the title of this blog? Then you are a Camila fan! That, or some weird (but totally awesome) family memeber has driven you mad with that song;). Well, I'm probably driving my brother crazy with this sond this very minute. I have it on repeat! I love this song.
"... Todo cambio cuando te vi ... de blaco y negro a color me converti...y fue tan facil quererte tanto...algo que no imaginaba...fue entregarte mi amor con una mirada... todo temblo dentro de mi...el universo escribio que fueras para mi...y fue tan facil quererte tanto...algo que no imaginaba...fue perder en tu amor...simplemente paso...y todo tullo ya soy"
This is one of the greatest songs ever!
Anyway, moving on... Actually I have nothing else to say right now.
See ya!

Ay, de la vida!

Hola,
No tendria significado vivir, ningun proposito. Hablar o gritar? vivir o morir?
Ay, que deprimida me e puesto.
Entonces no hay razón para vivir? ó es que acaso es suficiente vivir? La razón de vivir sera simplemente vivir?
Hmmm...

Global Warming

Anonymous,
I can't say that I'm an expert when it comes to this topic, but I do know that it is going on. I see it all around me. The weather in California (and the rest of the world) has gone crazy, and just yesterday, when I was driving to a higher elevation, I saw the cloud of smog that was hanging over the city. It is actually kind of depressing to think of how we are killing our own home. Yes I do believe that Global Warming is something we, humans, have caused. It is our fault the polar ice caps are melting, it is our fault the weather is so wacky. It would seem we are really out to get ourselves. It's not just the pollution, of course. By killing the worlds vegetation (e.g. the forest) we ruin our atmosphere. How so? What was it that made our atmosphere breathable/ livable (are those words) in the first place? That very thing. Plants made it possible for humans and other life forms who breath in oxygen (everything else) to exist. What keeps our atmosphere breathable? Plants. It's simple logic: by killing plants we kill OURSELVES AND the rest of the WORLD!
Aren't we idiots?
I will go to the extreme to say that we are all murderers. We are cold blooded killers! We are killing ourselves.
However, I, being a tree hugger and animal lover (life lover actually), am more concerned with the rest of the living creatures that share this planet with us. Our neighbors. Actually roommates is a better term for them. If we wiped ourselves out, it really wouldn't hurt our roommates very much. Once upon a time they lived just fine without us. I'm sure they could do it again. But now let's consider how they have faired since we became roomies; many a species has gone extinct because of us, possibly as far back as the mammoth, many more are on the endangered species list (maybe it should be renamed the death list?), and yet we continue destroying their home, their very existence. This isn't just "wild" creature either. Domestic creatures have suffered because of us as well. A few weeks ago i heard that in Japn they stuffed kittens into tiny jars for decoration. For decoration! And they kept them alive purposefully, for decoration! The thought itself is disgusting. I saw a single image of it, but that was enough. After that my stomach couldn't take it. Google it if you think you have the stomach for it.
Anyway, we need to do something to help nature out. We must become more conservative with the way we take from our environment. I wont tell you to go back in time to live in a cave, I will admit myself that i wouldn't be willing to do that, but we have to find some middle ground. Keep in mind that Earth, our home, heals irself, mush like our bodies, but, like our bodies, it can only heal so fast, and if we hurt it/take from it too fast it won't be able to heal itself. We must give it a chance. In name of our home and bethren, please give our home a chance.
P.S. If you are one of those people who don't care about what happens to our neighbors, then think about what will happen to you if our home crumbles and falls. Just think about it.

Lonely

I am so lonely. Not a single comment. I have to admit though that i hovent done much to advertise this. Of course i also havent written anything of interest, so anyone (if anyone) has strayed onto this blog, they have no reason to comment.

Today i got into an argument with my AP Statistics teacher. He insists that parents should push their children into not only obtaining an education, but also to reach for the stars, so to speak. In other words, he thinks that parents should try to coerce their children into obtaining straight A's. I completely disagree. As i told him, not everyone is academically inclined, and not everyone can pull the straight A's routine off. It's illogical to expect this from anyone. He argued that with some motivation every child is capable of this. I disagree with this notion as well because if the child (lets stop calling them a child, lets say person instead), if this person doesn't motivate him or herself then they aren't going to accept motivation from someone else. It's follows the same logic as the idea that if you dont trust yourself how are you going to trust others?

What do you think? Do you agree with me, or do you agree with my teacher, or do you think we are both bogus? Give me your ideas and I'll give you mine.

See ya!

At the risk of sounding like an absolute moron, is blogging a two way thing? I feel like such an idiot right now.

See Ya! I'm gonna find out if blogging is a two way thing.
